Embroidery goes beyond the craft world and in to the art world all the time. Artists like Cayce Zavaglia and Daniel Kornrumpf take it to a whole new level with their portraits. Great inspiration.

Way Crewel Idea! Free Pattern!
It's Friday! Finally! What a week huh? It's springtime in Texas and you know what that means, tons of wildflowers. It's gorgeous out here and we cannot help but be majorly inspired.
If you are looking for a fun project for the weekend simply print and trace the below pattern! This pattern was taken from "The New Crewel" but the colors have been redone to reflect our latest inspirations. We used one skein each of Appleton wool in colors #481, #483, #488, #443 and #992 on our natural plain weave linen.

Springtime Crewel Garland Idea.
Here's a fun idea for a crewel project! How about a springtime garland? We love this vintage doily garland that Ravenhill did.
Why not have a crewel garland? I think some Appleton #992, #873 and #701 would look gorgeous on the natural plain weave linen. You could use the patterns posted here on Craftzine and do your own doily inspired look. Here is a little more inspiration to get you going!
