New Crewel Workshop Coming to Chicago
Hello, Crewel Friends!
We've just scheduled another workshop at One Strange Bird in Chicago for Saturday, April 14th. I'll be teaching this two hour crewel embroidery workshop and I'm bringing a trunk load of crewelwork samples including new projects from my upcoming book, New Crewel: The Motif Collection, which comes out in May. (I'll even have a few advanced copies with me!) After a brief introduction of the crewel basics, I'll demonstrate eight different crewel stitches and finishing techniques. Participants will receive all the supplies needed to get started -- linen fabric, wool thread, needles and a hoop. My Wool & Hoop kits, supplies and first book, The New Crewel, which offers 30 of my original designs, 15 fun p rojects, and 16 classic embroidery stitches, will also be available for sale. The class is $65 and runs from 10:30am -12:30pm. All skill levels welcome. Sign up online at OneStrangeBird.com. For more information, call 773.276.4420.
Please, share this news with your crewel-loving friends in the Chicago area.
And, thank you!

Crewel Ideas!
Wondering what to do with your finished crewelwork? Our kits come with instructions and transfer paper to put your embroidery onto a blank greeting card (included in every kit). But you can also frame it, make a tree ornament, or patchwork it onto a pillow, tote bag, scrapbook, your pants, or what-have-you. For more ideas, check out The New Crewel by Katherine Shaughnessy.
